I like science-fiction a lot, but I guess zombies are more of the realm of horror movies. In my opinion no we will never have a zombie apocalypse if you define zombies are reanimated dead bodies. But there may be some really nasty viruses that emerge and mess up with people’s brains and behaviours – however people who get infected by such a virus would probably not live very long.
If you’re referring to a virus which can infect, kill and then reanimated a dead body which in turn only targets other living human beings for infestation and to spread an undead plague, then I’m not sure I see how that is possible.
However there have been reports of something called a “zombie parasite” that infects bees. These parasites infest the brains of bees which eventually lose control of its ability to fly correctly (compared to the rest of their swarm). Infected bees will eventually die and there is no evidence suggesting that dead bees can be made the fly again by the parasite, so probably not very “zombie”-like by definition 😛
