• Question: Why did you choose alzheimer's rather than any other brain disease?

      I work on Alzheimer’s disease as it’s a very big problem facing the UK and the world at the moment. There’s no cure or treatment to stop the disease and I wanted to help understand the disease a bit more, so we can be closer to finding one.
      Alzheimer’s disease is caused by nerve cells dying. This happens in other diseases (such as Parkinson’s disease, motor neuron disease and multiple sclerosis) and I’m a specialist in this process. So I’ve previously worked on lots of different brain diseases.
