• Question: what have you found out about dementia in your recent study's. why is it that mainly the older generation get dementia and not so much the younger generation also why does dementia affect your memory ?

      In my last study we found that we could make people perform faster on tasks when we trained them to use an iPad. However, they were not demented, but healthy older people. I might run more projects int he future to see if the we can have the same effect with people with dementia.

      Older people get more often dementia than younger people, because as we age people are generally more prone to disease. It’s not about dementia only; overall, younger people tend to be healthier than older people. The older one gets the more likely to suffer from something.

      When people have dementia their brains degenerate (shrink), so they progressively lose their abilities, including memory. So memory is affected because specific parts of the brain (e.g., amygdala) are shrunk.
