This is not my specialty but it seems the evidence is that women are more affected by dementia than men. You can read a report about this here:
      https://www.alz.co.uk/sites/default/wp-content/uploads/sites/1/files/pdfs/Women-and-Dementia.pdf
There is also the fact that women tend to live longer, and dementia rates increase with age, so in terms of numbers there are more women living with dementia.
But in terms of the age at which it starts, I haven’t read whether it starts earlier in women than men.

Overall, there are no differences between males and females when it comes to frequency or time of diagnosis. However, over the age of 85 females tend to get more dementia. However, the main reason for this is, that females live longer than males. Males die earlier than females, so there are more females that live past the age of 85 than males.

In the UK around 60% of people with dementia are female and 40% are male. Dementia becomes more common with age and as women tend to live longer than men, more women get the condition. There’s currently no evidence that women are more likely to develop dementia earlier than men.
