Dementia affects the lives of a lot of people either directly (the person who has dementia) or indirectly (families and friends of people with dementia, the community etc). It is important to understand why some people are more prone than others in developing dementia, because when we understand the causes of dementia, then we’ll be able to target it and treat it.

Although I don’t have a family history of dementia, so I’m not affected directly at the moment (and hopefully in the future too!), I would like to contribute in finding a treatment for dementia and help those who are affected.
